WTF am I looking at? Law Firm Edition

A few months ago, a boutique law firm asked me to review their Google Analytics.
Traffic looked decent. Bounce rate was low. They were feeling good.

But when I dug into the data, I found something… odd.

They were getting hundreds of visits to a blog post about “how to file for legal separation” – but it was all traffic from the US, and they only serve Ontario Canada.

Meanwhile, their “Book a Consultation” page? Crickets.

WTF were they looking at?

It turns out their blog was ranking for a high-volume search, but it had nothing to do with their paying clients. And their core services weren’t being found at all.

We fixed that by:

  • Creating location-specific pages for key services
  • Updating meta descriptions and internal links to guide visitors to action
  • Tracking qualified conversions, not vanity metrics like pageviews

Suddenly, the right people started finding them – and booking consultations.

If you’ve ever opened your analytics and thought, “This looks fine… I guess?”
You’re not alone. That’s why I created the Is Your Marketing Working? program.

It includes:

  • A monthly analytics check-in (in plain English)
  • Strategic insights, not fluff
  • Two calls per month to review what’s working (and what’s not)

This is where we figure out what’s really going on behind the numbers.
