The CDAP grant assists Canadian businesses to give their e-commerce presence a boost with the help of an ecommerce advisor (DriveTraffic) and a grant.

The Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP)

The Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP) assists small and medium-sized Canadian businesses to adopt new digital tools to get their business online, give their e-commerce presence a boost or digitize operations.

There are two streams to the CDAP program. If you reported at least $30K in revenue, but less than $500K, go directly to the ISED site and apply.

Revenue GREATER THAN $500,000 per year

Boost Your Business Technology Grant

Maximum Grant Value = $15,000 CAD

Additional Grant Requirements:

    • Canadian business which reported at least $500K in annual revenue during one of the past three years
    • between $500K and $1M annual revenues in one of the previous three tax years
    • sole proprietor whose owner is a Canadian resident

 

                                                                                                       or

 

    • A business incorporated under the laws of Canada or a province or territory
    • Is for-profit
    • Between 1 – 499 full time equivalent employees
    • Is privately owned
    • Is not a majority or wholly owned subsidiary or branch or sales office of a multinational
      corporation (MNC)
    • Have not been convicted of tax evasion or a criminal offence

  1. Apply
  2. Review the Program Guide
  3. Work with DriveTraffic to create your roadmap
  4. Submit your roadmap to ISED
  5. Collect your grant $$

Canada Digital Adoption Program Eligibility

All businesses applying for either grant must be a:

  • for-profit business (including for-profit social enterprises and co-operatives)
  • registered or incorporated business
  • consumer-facing business

Examples of Ineligible Businesses:

  • Corporate chains, franchises or registered charities
  • Representatives of multi-level marketing companies
  • Real estate brokerages
  • Resellers or drop-shipping businesses reliant on third-party suppliers
  • Wholesale or distribution business and manufacturers who do not sell direct to customers

How to Use Your CDAP Grant Money

Eligible costs must be directly tied to the sale of goods and services online; here are some examples:

  • Development of a new e-commerce website or add functionality to your existing site (e.g. online reservation/booking tools, online ordering systems, electronic payments)
    • Redesign of an existing site is not eligible unless increased functionality is being added
  • Installation an e-commerce platform (including subscription fees/costs)
  • Hiring a consultant to develop digital marketing for your e-commerce store
  • Website search optimization and social media advertising
    • such uses must be tied to an overall e-commerce implementation plan and not a standalone item
  • Track and manage inventory and sales, market to customers, offer discounts, maintain a loyalty program, or increase cyber security using e-commerce software
  • Pay up to 20% of the total cost of hardware and software
