I made $.84!

Posted in AdSense by SEO Ottawa on the November 27th, 2005

I have just started playing with Google AdSense - I am not even displaying it in my blog yet, but only in my affiliate directory, which contains about 2 affiliate programs and gets no traffic ;-)

But it gives me encouragement…$.84 can become $84 eventually…and then maybe one day a grand total of $840 - you think? I think I’ll have to incorporate AdWords into my blog posts and see what that does ;-)

Google Analytics

Posted in Web Analytics, Google AdWords, AdSense by SEO Ottawa on the November 14th, 2005

I just came across Google Analytics over at Affiliate Marketing Gab: “Google Analytics tells you everything you want to know about how your visitors found you and how they interact with your site.”

If you have an AdWords account, you can use Google Analytics directly from the AdWords interface. I am very curious to check this out because up until now, Google AdWords Conversion tracking has lacked the ability to tell me anything about the user who clicked on my ad such as their location, ip address, keyword used, time of day, etc.

This Google Analytics would be a scaled down version of Urchin - I will check it out and let you know what I think since I am an avid Urchin user as well ;-)

AdSense New Referral Program

Posted in AdSense by SEO Ottawa on the November 4th, 2005

I’ve been hearing from affiliates for a while now that the best money to be made is in showing AdSense ads on your website. One of the only complaints I have heard is that AdSense did not have a partner or referral program whereby one could earn money by encouraging someone to sign up for an AdWords account.

Well complain no longer because the Google Referral Partner Program is here, not in beta and not by referral only!

Here’s what you’ll find when you use the new AdSense referral system:

  1. Easy, on-demand access to referral reports and signup statistics through your AdSense account interface;
  2. Convenient and transparent payouts: We’ll credit your payouts directly to your AdSense account so you can see exactly how much you’re earning every day.
  3. More ways to earn money: You’ll earn US$100 (credited to your AdSense account) for every AdSense publisher you refer who signs up and earns US$100. In addition, when a user you’ve referred to Firefox plus Google Toolbar runs Firefox for the first time, you’ll receive US$1 in your account.

This is what you need to do start earning revenue with the new AdSense referral system:

  • If you don’t already have an AdSense publisher account, sign up for one now. Once your application is approved, you’ll be able to log in and complete the process.
  • Log into your AdSense publisher account.
  • Click into the “Referrals” tab in your AdSense account to:
  • Select the language you’ll use for referrals from the drop-down menu;
  • Select the sub-tab of the product you’d like to refer: AdSense or Firefox plus Google Toolbar;
  • Choose the referral button you’d like to place on your site, and copy the code from the box to the left of the selection.
  • Paste the referral code into the HTML source code of your site.

It’s as easy as that! You’ll be able to start referring new AdSense users and earning revenue from your website shortly after the new referral code goes live on your site. More information about AdSense referrals.
